Kalispell outdoor writer and naturalist Ben Long will present a photo-essay “Wildlife Surprises in Urban Montana” at the April meeting of Flathead Audubon. Audubon will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 13 in the United Way Conference Room at the Gateway Community Center, off US Highway 2 West in Kalispell. The program is free and all are welcome.
Long and his wife, Karen Nichols, have been watching and photographing wildlife in and around Kalispell’s Lawrence Park for more than ten years. Long will share what wildlife they have discovered lurking only a few blocks from the traffic of US Highways 2 and 93.
Long has written books and magazine articles about Montana’s wildlife for more than 20 years. His byline appears in publications, such as, Montana Outdoors, Montana Quarterly, Outdoor Life and others. He is Senior Program Director for Resource Media in Kalispell.
